Mainstage Theatrical Supply

Hey Guys! I went to my local theatrical supply store and this would be my first time ever going there. I never realized I had one until I did some research on the internet. They only have Ben Nye Products which was exactly what I was looking for. If you are interested you can also purchase products on their website. Mainstage Theatrical Supply or at the Internatinal Fun-shop. First I went to to this costume store that had some theatrical makeup but never the products I was looking for and the lady told me she could order it and it would be in by the next day and now I know where she gets it from, Mainstage, because no way could she order from anywhere else and it would come that fast. That costume store was way over priced anyways.

Cost: $7:00 for 2 fl. oz they have it in smaller or bigger sizes also
First product is Ben Nye's Final Seal Matte Makeup sealer. After your makeup application you spritz this on your face and it should seal your makeup on for the whole day. Of course this was made for the hot lights of stage performance so I thought why not try it for everyday makeup. I hate when my makeup starts to glide off my face due to my oily skin. I'm not sure if this works yet but I sure will update you guys later about it. I sprayed it on my face right when I got home and the nozzle is very powerful. I would love it if it was in a fix plus bottle. An active ingredient is alcohol so I'm a little worried about that.

Cost: $5.00 for 49 grams
I have heard so many great reviews on this product. I'm definitey trying to find a great translucent setting powder. This comes in a bottle but it has shaker holes on top. I put tape over it so it wouldn't come out a mess and then I poked one of the holes. I've lightly powdered my face with it and I'm quite pleased. I'll do a full on makeup look and put this on and see if it alters my makeup. I've tried Bareminerals Mineral Veil and never again will I use that. It's active ingredient was cornstarch and all it did was make my face look ghostly. On top of that Bareminerals foundation already has spf of 25 so in pictures your head looks like it is floating on top of a really tan body. SPF and pictures with flash is not a good combo.

They also carried all of the Lumiere Luxe Powders (or pigments) and all of the pressed shadows. I got so excited!!! but of course I was on a budget =( and I always stuck to it. So I got one in Amethyst. This jar holds 8 grams of product for 10 or 9 dollars. It said 10 but she sold it for 9. Now think about this

MAC pigments-- 7.5 grams for 18.00
Face Front Cosmetics Paint me Perfect shadows-- 5 grams for $10.oo
Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powders-- 8 grams for 9 dollars

This is to show you how big it is next to a 5 gram jar.

First pic shows the shadow under different bases. Second pic has no flash

My next trip to Mainstage would be for a Conceal All Wheel and more Lumiere Luxe Powders.
If your on a budget theatrical makeup is an awesome alternative to the other high end brands of makeup. Theatrical makeup is made for intense heat so you know your getting some good quality stuff. Some awesome brands are Ben Nye, Mehron and Kryolan.
