Back in highschool my everyday makeup routine consists of bareminerals and black eyeliner with Mac Refined bronzer as a blush. That was what I wore everyday because I really didn't know anything about makeup, I just knew I liked wearing it. I didn't really take a lot of pictures back then but one day I did and I saw how ghostly my face looked. I took a picture with flash and you can definitely see the difference between my face and my neck. I also took another picture that day with no flash. I look normal, you don't see a line or anything. Since Bare Minerals has a great amount of SPF in it, it definitely gives your face a ghostly affect with flash. That is with any SPF products. The thing is I wore Mineral veil over the Bare Minerals foundation which definitely altered the look also in flash pictures. It makes you paler than you really are because it has corn starch in it. Ever since I saw this picture I stopped wearing Bare minerals Foundation. It's not a bad product it's just I like products that are camera friendly. The Mineral Veil on the other hand I would never use. There are other setting powders out there that do a better job.

ReplyDeleteThanks I didn't even notice that. I think I may need to hold a contest soonn =). But recommendations for foundations?? well right now I like using my Studiotech foundation from mac but I hate how I get a lot more yellow through out the day. I definitely will be looking into MUFE foundations or RCMA. As for setting powders i love my ben nye neutral set powder.
ReplyDeleteDid BM work well with your skin? I tried it out for a week and I broke out. I agree with SPF being camera unfriendly. :( I try not to take pictures when I have SPF on (or whip out a bag and put it over my head)!
ReplyDeleteLol I thought bareminerals was the shit when I wore it haha.It didn't brea me out at all I loved it until I saw that picture and I was like wore there changing foundation immediately.
ReplyDeleteMy brother once said that I "reflect the light wrong" when taking pictures with a flash. I always look like a ghost in pictures that are taken wth flash. So now I know why - I use mineral foundation with SPF!

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize my BM mineral veil gave me a white cast even over my MUFE HD foundation. Do you recommend anything else besides Ben nye? Where did you get yours...online or a costume store or something?
ReplyDeleteI got my Ben Nye at a theatrical store but um other setting powders you could use i guess would be MAC setting powder I've heard some good reviews on that. I have the MAC Prep and prime trasparent finishing powder and thats a good buy too it definitely minimizes your pores. Or you can just use the Mineralized skinfinishes which are amzing.
