Accessory holder ideas

Ok so I'm running out of ideas to blog about. As I'm sitting in my room I'm looking around trying to find things that you readers may be interested in. If you have not already noticed I am an organized freak.

This is a cool plastic compartment thing I found at Michaels which I also believe is at Walmart. One side I put all my small earings in. If they are small enough you can put more than 1 pair in one slot. I have a bout 2 pairs in each slot right now. The other side of the compartment will be my nail accessory placement. Right now I only have one slot filled with little red heart confetti looking accents I got at sally's.
The slots all have safetly locks on them. If you don't want to bother with them you can take it out like I did. It hurts my fingers to open them with the locks on it.

This is a margarita glass I bought from a boutique but you can definitely make your own. This is where I store my rings and I use to store my really big earrings that I hang on the side rim. I don't anymore because I don't have any big earrings that I wear very often, so I dug some up from my drawer and hung them to show you guys. A big pain with the margarita glass is that all the rings goes to the bottom and I you have to dig it up. So if I had to change it I would have got me an oversized martini glass.

If you don't want to paint one your self I believe Hallmark has a variety of painted glasses also.

Review: Shiseido Mascara Base

Shiseido Mascara Base
Cost: 23
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This stuff is awesome for very short lashes. It definitely extends but also thickens the lashes. It's not like the usual white primers you see it's more of a clear/grey gel. I can actually turn my head to the side and see the fibers cling on and extend the lashes. When you take the wand out a lot of product gets on the wand which is kind of annoying but you can wipe off the wand along the top of the tube. I own two mascaras which are the Maybelline Full ' n Soft and Maybelline Define a Lash. The Define a Lash didn't glide on the Shiseido quite as well as the Full 'n Soft did. So when ever I use Shiseido I only use the Full 'n Soft. Define a Lash is great by its self anyway. I definitely think every one should try Shiseido's Mascara Base I told my sister to try this and she absolutely loves it!

Review: Ben Nye Final Seal and Neutral Set Powder.

Ok I have used these products a couple times now and this is what I think of them..

Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder
I apply this powder along my tzone after I have applied my makeup and this works great. Makes me less shiny and less oily. I'm not saying this powder completely makes me matte alll day long, it just takes me longer to get oily and shiny. I use to have to blot like the first 3 hours I've had my makeup on but now I blot near the end of the day which is great! Especially after I eat greasy foods that would call for an immediate blot of the face but now while using this powder I really don't need to blot. This is very transluscent and does not altar the makeup at all. Packaging would have been great if it was in a jar form rather than a bottle. It does have shaker holes but I just wish the cap was larger so I could swirl and tap.

Ben Nye Matte Final Seal
The spray nozzle on this is very powerful and is quite hard to get an even coverage all over your face. The feeling I get when I spray this on my face is a mild hairspray feeling. I feel my skin start to tighten up so I have to do those face exercises to loosen it up. If it gets in your hair I suggest combing through it because it feels like you just put hairspray in it. It also has a mint scent so getting this in your eye would be very unpleasant. I've seen that my makeup will stay vibrant all day long. No need for retouching except for concealer because I'm always rubbing under my eyes. I spray this after I use the neutral set but from now on I will spray it before the neutral set because I think it made me look dewy even though it said its a matte spray.

All in all these two products were a great find!

Skin Care Routine in action!

Tackle Box for Makeup Kit Accessories

I love being organized and this prevents me having to put Q-tips and sponges in ziplock bags and having them be everywhere. This tackle box I bought I Walmart in the camping/fishing makes it easy for me to see everything in one organized box. It comes with 4 removable dividers but in the first row the dividers are permanent. There are also bigger ones which I may go back and get one =). Great idea for makeup artist on the go!

Orangey Bronze Eyes

Youtube Drama Wahhh???

So I just wanted to get everyones opinion on this Youtube drama situation. If you don't know about it I'll leave some links above. So I'm guessing a lot of us make up bloggers watch the popular make up gurus like petrilude, xsparkage, makeupbytiffanyd, ect. ect. I never knew so many people had problems with them and are being so mean that they aren't answering their questions and stuff like that. And some people think that some gurus act like there better than everyone like wth who cares lol. I don't get why people are taking it to the heart. It's kind of like T.V. if you don't like it move on. That's what I do when I see New York on VH1. Seriously freak out because gurus can't answer your one question out of like 50,000 subscribers questions. I have personally messaged gurus for some questions I had about makeup and I knew I wouldn't be answered back for a long time or even not at all. So what did I do??? I googled that shit. They are not my only source of makeup tips. google is my best friend haha.

Mainstage Theatrical Supply

Hey Guys! I went to my local theatrical supply store and this would be my first time ever going there. I never realized I had one until I did some research on the internet. They only have Ben Nye Products which was exactly what I was looking for. If you are interested you can also purchase products on their website. Mainstage Theatrical Supply or at the Internatinal Fun-shop. First I went to to this costume store that had some theatrical makeup but never the products I was looking for and the lady told me she could order it and it would be in by the next day and now I know where she gets it from, Mainstage, because no way could she order from anywhere else and it would come that fast. That costume store was way over priced anyways.

Cost: $7:00 for 2 fl. oz they have it in smaller or bigger sizes also
First product is Ben Nye's Final Seal Matte Makeup sealer. After your makeup application you spritz this on your face and it should seal your makeup on for the whole day. Of course this was made for the hot lights of stage performance so I thought why not try it for everyday makeup. I hate when my makeup starts to glide off my face due to my oily skin. I'm not sure if this works yet but I sure will update you guys later about it. I sprayed it on my face right when I got home and the nozzle is very powerful. I would love it if it was in a fix plus bottle. An active ingredient is alcohol so I'm a little worried about that.

Cost: $5.00 for 49 grams
I have heard so many great reviews on this product. I'm definitey trying to find a great translucent setting powder. This comes in a bottle but it has shaker holes on top. I put tape over it so it wouldn't come out a mess and then I poked one of the holes. I've lightly powdered my face with it and I'm quite pleased. I'll do a full on makeup look and put this on and see if it alters my makeup. I've tried Bareminerals Mineral Veil and never again will I use that. It's active ingredient was cornstarch and all it did was make my face look ghostly. On top of that Bareminerals foundation already has spf of 25 so in pictures your head looks like it is floating on top of a really tan body. SPF and pictures with flash is not a good combo.

They also carried all of the Lumiere Luxe Powders (or pigments) and all of the pressed shadows. I got so excited!!! but of course I was on a budget =( and I always stuck to it. So I got one in Amethyst. This jar holds 8 grams of product for 10 or 9 dollars. It said 10 but she sold it for 9. Now think about this

MAC pigments-- 7.5 grams for 18.00
Face Front Cosmetics Paint me Perfect shadows-- 5 grams for $10.oo
Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe Powders-- 8 grams for 9 dollars

This is to show you how big it is next to a 5 gram jar.

First pic shows the shadow under different bases. Second pic has no flash

My next trip to Mainstage would be for a Conceal All Wheel and more Lumiere Luxe Powders.
If your on a budget theatrical makeup is an awesome alternative to the other high end brands of makeup. Theatrical makeup is made for intense heat so you know your getting some good quality stuff. Some awesome brands are Ben Nye, Mehron and Kryolan.

Are You Fierce? Contest Entry

Some Gurus are having a huge makeup Contest and well i decided to enter it and the look I was going for was like a crazy amazon girl/ Chloe Kardashian Peta Billboard look haha. I'm not so thrilled about how it came out but oh well. I think the hair would have came out better if I actually put hair spray in it but it was late and I definitely didn't want to sleep in hairspray so I just teased the hell out of it.

Jazz Up Your Mac Palettes

Do you have many MAC palettes and have trouble figuring out what colors are in what palette.? JAZZ EM UP!!! Labeling them is so boring. Do something unique and interesting to them!

Can you guess what's inside this palette? Let me give you a hint. The pans are similar to the Lady bugs body.

Yay! It's my L'Oreal HIP duo shadows. I rearranged all the colors so they could be next to a color similar to them.

This is my Neutral Brown palette. I didn't take a picture of the inside because I really just shove all my colors in it. I took the divider out because I ran out of room and I can't buy palettes around here I have to wait til I go to Houston or Cali.

I call this my travel palette. If I go on vaction I use one palette and put all the neccessary colors I will need on the trip. This one doesn't have the dividers in it either. This one looks kind of funny I may change it.

So I will be needing to get probably 3 more palettes for a a purple, pink, and blue palette. All the stickers I bought are from Michaels

MUA mini Swap Haul

Hey guys! So I have a very mini swap haul. If your not familiar with swapping let me tell you a little about it. Its a website called MakeupAlley.com. This website has user reviews of everything that is beauty related. Hair products, Makeup, Skin Care and Hot Tools. I always look at this site before I buy anything that I am unfamiliar with. Another great thing about this website is that you can swap makeup with people. Yeah at first I was like thats disgusting your swapping germs practically. So I only swap for things I know I can sterilize thoroughly like pressed powder products and lip sticks. Pressed powder you can spray with alcohol and swipe off the first layer. Lipstick shave off the top layer and dip in alcohol. I advise you not to swap mascaras or liquid liners. I think swapping is great when you have a product you never use or you tried it and you hate it. So why not swap with someone that wants it and you want something of theirs?

The products you se below are what I got for swapping my Benefit She Laq which I hated! It did nothing for me.

If your looking for any Ben Nye products check out the fun-shop
I actually checked on this website to see the color of Cinderella Blue and the swatch they give you on the website I thought would have been much lighter like a sky blue but apparently its much more muted.
MAC Peaches is a matte version of MAC Hello Kittys Fun and Games
As you can see it's pretty knicked up and I didn't know that because the person never mentioned it to me so if you do swap always ask for pictures.
It took me a couple applications for it to show. I think I may need a base to go under this so it doesn't fly off my face so quickly.

It's pretty vibrant but I may also need a base under this. It came off pretty easily.

Its that time of month PROM!

It's that month where department stores are just filled with dresses and makeup counters are the busiest ever. Yes it's Prom! My bestfriend was going to her Junior prom and she asked me to do her hair and makeup. We did a trial run one night and she let me do whatever I wanted. In the end, she thought it was too dramatic for her style, and as I thought about it, yeah she never wears makeup so why do a smoky teal look on someone that doesn't wear makeup on a daily basis. So we did a second trial run another night with something she felt more comfortable with. I did a neutral eye with teal eyeliner. I did her hair which I was kind of worried in the beginning because I don't have that much experience with hair styling. I can tease hair but that's pretty much it. I was surprised on the outcome, it came out better than I thought it would.

My Prom experience was a bad experience. It rained that night, and the boyfriend was being so shy we didn't dance!!!! But then again the DJ was playing music like the chicken dance, wahh! My boyfriend came down from a different state to take me to prom so I understood why he was so shy, he knew no one. The only person he knew was his cousin who was also my best friend and he lives down the street from me so that is how me and my boyfriend met. I stayed at prom for literally 20 mins. We took pictures said hi to a couple people and left. That is my prom experience everyone wahoo! I paid $500 for my dress and stayed at prom for 20 mins?! As for my makup I didn't know how to contour, or do eyemakeup at all. I used bareminerals for my foundation and used a champagne color all over my lid. L'Oreal true match blush and Revlon eyeliner. In the end I'm glad I went just to see what it looked like and of course dress up. I think everyone should go to their prom even if its only for 20 mins. =)

Outlet haul

I swung by the outlet today with my mother while running some errands today. Let me share with you what I got.
First off we stopped by a beauty supply shop in town that we have never visited before and I found me some cheap falsies. Wigs filled up every inch of that shop, wow it was amazing and they sold nyx so I'll definitely be going back there sometime.

These shoes I got at a boutique store down at the outlet and I am in desperate need of flip flops and sandals. I wear the same flipflops everyday. I'm starting to feel the cement where the heel hits.

Pink Iris Fluidline

Light as air Powerpoint pencil

Cool Heat e/s

I live in the middle betwen two different CCOs and the one I went to today was not the usual one I always go to. I was very surprised that they have alot of items that the other CCO doesn't have. What got me angry was they had Mutiny Pigment which was the only item I got from the A Rose Romance collection. Like really?! geeze I could have saved me some money.

1::Ranting

I am such a fan of this show and tonights showing was the best of them all! I knew Karev was a good guy all along. He may have acted like an ass in the older episodes but I always knew in my heart Izzy and Karev were going to be together. He is such a softy. sigh.. For some reason I just have a feeling Izzy is going to die. I know that would be tragic and make the show more depressing than it already is but I feel it in my bones lol. If you don't watch Grey's Anatomy your crazy. Go rent all the seasons, sit in your room, watch it, and don't come out until your finished.

MUFE Camouflage Palette No. 2

I swiped it a couple of times. Price: $36
Can't truly rate it but a 5 out of 5 for consistency. Lightweight well pigmented.

I really like this palette the only thing wrong with it is I GOT THE WRONG COLOR PALETTE! ahhhh! I don't have a sephora around me so I asked my sister to get it for me in Cali and she brought it down for me during Spring Break. There are 4 different palettes. I really think I should have gotten No.3. Consistency is great. Very light weight, buildable. The purple color is to neautralize yellow undertones. This is very pricey but I couldn't resist I wanted to try it so bad. I think I would have fell in love if I would have gotten the right palette. The only use for it now is for my makeup kit when I do others makeup. =) Another product I will be definitely trying is Ben Nye's Coneal all wheel. I am on a hunt for the best conealer out there. Watch me!

The difference between Smashbox Antishine and MAC Matte

Ok I really thought these two products did the same things but unfortunately they don't

Smashbox Antishine

Price:27
Rating: 3.9 out of 5
Reasoning: broke me out when used to much. It made me mad lol

What it claims it does:Inspired by the hot lights of Hollywood's most glamorous photo shoots, this remarkably cool and refreshing Anti-Shine powder-gel formula sets Smashbox apart from the rest. Perfectly designed to afford a natural-looking, long-lasting matte finish while absorbing surface shine.

My opinion: This product removes shine while mattifying the skin. It's creamy at first but once it is spread on the skin it mattifies instantly. If you spread it like you would with a lotion you will notice tugging of the skin. I suggest using small amounts and dabbing it on the skin rather than spreading it across your face. Using too much can cause me some break out, because this product seems to clog the pores. A very small amount is the trick. It says it gives your face a matte no shine face all day long but it seems to only work for 3 hours or so. I apply it after lotion and before primer. If you use it after primer your skin would be too dry for the foundation to glide on. I've used it throughout the day over makeup and it doesn't make you look splotchy at all. I make sure I use my Clean and Clear Oil control blotting sheets first then apply the antishine. It's definitely a product I keep in my purse now.

MAC Matte

Price: 18
Rating:4.0 out of 5
Reasoning: Did not mattify but did make my skin feel silky smooth before foundation application

What it claims it does:A matte-ifying cream that acts like a powder, M·A·C Matte adds a sheer, no-shine matte texture in one smooth layer. May be used on bare or made-up skin. Use a latex sponge or a 252 Large Shader Brush to apply over the entire face or in the T-zone to reduce the appearance of shine. Apply M·A·C Matte after moisturizer, but before foundation to prime the skin for makeup. Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation applies smoothly and effortlessly over top of M·A·C Matte. Apply M·A·C Matte to eyelids before applying Eye Shadow or Paints to help increase the longevity of the makeup and reduce creasing.

My Opinion: So when I read the two descriptions I thought ok so they practically do the same things. Well actually not at all. MAC Matte says it mattes the skin while reduces shine. It really does none of that. I was still shiny and I definitely did not see it matte the skin. It may have mattified a little but not anything like the Antishine. The only thing I like about this product was that it was silicone based so it acted like a primer. Well yeah it pretty much is a primer. If you have ever tried Smashbox Photofinish Primer (the normal one) they are very similar products except that the MAC Matte DOES NOT leave you hecka oily through the day. If you use too much of MAC Matte it may make your skin oily I haven't tried too much of it but i can see it happening. I would suggest this as a primer to anyone. I especially like to use it under the eyes before I do my corrector and concealer. It allows me to apply it like butttttaa. Seriously BUTTTTAA.

On the Road Again! duh duh duh duh On the Road Again!!

Outline: Me talking alot of nonsense!!

The makeup school I applied to called me the other day and I am ACCEPTED! which means I will be hitting the road and driving my car from Florida to Cali in July. Super duper excited but then kind of scared because it's such a big change for me. My sisters live out there so I know I won't feel completely lonely. I think I'm more excited about the roadtrip, driving across the country sounds so cool lol. My plans are to drive to Houston then stay there for a couple days and then my ex/boyfriend what ever you wanna call him haha will be driving the rest of the way with me. Through out the trip I'll be stopping at various places to site see or dine so if anyone knows places I should check out along the way feel free to leave a comment. (san antonio, el paso, new mexico, arizona)
